Chrysler Brand Takes Home ‘Grand Effie’ at the North American Effie Awards Gala

The Chrysler brand was awarded last night with a “Grand Effie” award for its “Imported from Detroit” campaign. The award was presented to the Chrysler brand at “44th Annual Effie Awards” gala held in New York.

“The ‘Imported from Detroit’ campaign was more than a commercial; it signified the start of the new Chrysler Group LLC and airing it during the Super Bowl allowed us to share our story with America. We are thankful to all of our consumers for joining us on this journey,” said Olivier Francois – Chief Marketing Officer, Chrysler Group LLC. “On behalf of everyone at the Chrysler brand and all of the employees at Chrysler Group we thank the voting jury for this honor.”

Partnering agencies Wieden+Kennedy from Portland, Ore and UniversalMcCann from Birmingham, Mich. shared the win with the Chrysler brand.

Weekly Maintenance Tip: Night Driving

 

 

 The most dangerous time to drive on any roadway is between the hours of midnight and 6am, especially on the weekends. Luckily, there are some things you can do to improve your safety when driving at night. But by following a few basic guidelines, you can minimize your risk.

•  Keep it dark inside the car
  Turn off all interior lights. Any source of light inside the car will seem extremely bright and will make it more difficult to see.
• Avoid smoking when driving at night
  The carbon monoxide and nicotine in cigarettes has a measurable, physical effect on your eyes. These chemicals can actually make it difficult to see well and clearly, especially at night.
• Stay sharp
  Try chewing bubble gum to keep your mind humming. Also, drinking water and staying well hydrated may do wonders for mental alertness.
• Rest early, rest often
  If you’re planning a longer night-driving expedition, make sure you bank a couple nights’ worth of good sleep before hitting the road. Also, plan on making frequent stops to stretch, walk, or have a small snack or moderate meal.  Some experts recommend stopping every two hours for a body/mind break.
• Adjust your headlights for maximum effectiveness
  Check your headlights for proper alignment and ask your mechanic to adjust them properly. Adjusting your headlights may help you see more of the road while also protecting other drivers from wayward beams.

2012 Chrysler 300 Named One of the 10 Best Green Cars

The awards keep coming for Chrysler’s flagship luxury vehicle. Roadfly has named the 2012 Chrysler 300 one of the Ten Best Green Cars of 2012. The editors of Roadfly judged 2012 vehicles based on a number of criteria including fuel efficiency and environmental impact.

 

With an EPA estimated 31 mpg on the highway, the 2012 Chrysler 300 is finely tuned to reduce trips to the gas pump. The powerful 3.6L Pentastar V6 engine under the hood ensures that performance and fuel efficiency work in tandem.  In other words, the 300 isn’t a one-trick pony, as the editors of Roadfly took into account.

“MPG isn’t the only criteria used to determine the best green cars. We evaluate driving characteristics, cargo capacity, and even the Manufactures green initiatives,” said Roadfly Founder and Publisher, Charlie Romero.

The 2012 Chrysler 300 has earned a long list of awards and recognition. Recently, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) gave the 2012 Chrysler 300 a 5-star safety rating and the editors of Kelley Blue Book® named the 2012 Chrysler 300 one of the 10 Best Family Cars of 2012.
